    Hello The Millionaire,

I just found out from reading that there are two kinds of Linux out
    there:

There is only one kind of linux I assure you. Many distributions but only one linux.

    Linux Paid OS/Apps
    Linux Free OS/Apps

It's the same in DOS, Windows, Linux or any OS you might have. Some folks write
programs and sell it and other offer it freely.

    Hello The,

But I thought Linux was supposed to be according to Linus Torvalds.

    Free*

Linux is free and open source, just like Linus's git software.

That doesn't mean someone else can't also write software for linux or whatever OS they choose. When someone does that they may sell their software if they wish or give it away freely.

That's a choice a software author is free to make as they choose.

Linux is just the kernel of the OS and can be freely used by people for whatever they want to use it for, including companies that want to make a paid-for OS based on it.

It gives a new meaning to the free open source community. Now the paid closed source community.

There is no new meaning here. Programming is a skill and a lot of people
earn their living programming. Those people and the companies they work
for need to make money somehow. There is nothing wrong with that. Look at Microsoft or Redhat or any number of others.

This does no harm to the free open source community.

If you don't want to pay someone for their software then don't, find a
free software that works for you.

Just because the Linux OS/kernel is free, that doesn't mandate that all software for Linux be free. Some people still want to make a living selling software, and some Linux software is for pay. One of the biggest changes I've seen going on with Linux right now is gaming support from Steam. Most game companies are still going to charge money for their PC games, even for their Linux verisons.

Was reading this when something occurred to me. Programming and writing music are skills I have never had much of. Are the ones who do have those skills
able to be proficient in both because it does take a certain bit of
    creativity?

    No, it doesn't.

Now the paid closed source community.

Which has always existed. Nothing "new" about it.
