Message received.
If your groups are messed up that is solely based on the number after the g, and the ID of the message base. g1 = message base id 1, g4= message base id 4, etc.

Believe you may have the same issue I had. Check your message group editor under editors & make sure that all your fsx bases are set up under the same number. For instance...here...my fsx is #1. In your message base
editor...make sure your ACS is listed as s##g1. For my local bases...it is #2...so the ACS for all the local bases are s##g1.
Head to your mailin.ini & make sure your fsx section is setup like this:
21:2/###_acs_list = s##g1
Just make sure every network has the same number as in your message group editor.

Thanks, I will. Had broken FTN exporting a while ago and thought I fixed it but never sure until I see someone else actually toss the packet.
That test post reply bot is pretty cool.
Speaking of packets, does anyone have a good ftn packet analyser tool that runs on windows 64 or linux? Curious what things I may have that's off in how I implemented this.

It seems to work sharing the message base files between the two. Only issue is a lot of my messagebase filenames are longer than 8 characters.
I'll have to experiment with using the 8.3 filename to see if that works (e.g : bbs_carnival.jdt = BBS_CA~1.JDT)

I think the point system is the way to go. I was testing with sharing the
JAM bases between Mystic & Telegard before, and while it worked, any time I posted a message with Telegard it reset my last read pointers in Mystic.
That is, unless I got another node number for my Telegard system...

I just took the 1st 8 letters...rather than cutting off the name with a ~*.
For instance...mine is running as bbs_carn & is perfectly happy.

Yes. WWIV supports two types of pipe codes. |NN like mystic, but also has it's own color codes that have been there since the very beginning. Ususally these are heart codes (control-C looks like a heart in CP437) followed by a digit'0'-'9'. Also a pipe code version exists |# plus '0'-'9'. Those colors are user customizable although most people leave them alone, or brighten them a
little if anything.
I was converting heart codes to |#N pipe codes. Really shouldn't do that and just strip out the wwiv colors, or convert them to pipe codes that work in other places.

I saw your message that was in my inbound as a bad packet - because you used 7zip as your archiver. The hub didnt support 7zip, but it does now!

Nah - I probably mentioned that I should make it case insensitive, but havent done it yet...

Only in unpacking incoming packets. I havent enabled it to create packets - although I dont imagine that that would be too hard...?
Add this to your config.packer:
Unpack "7zr e -o$p $a" 0 377abcaf

Hello alterego,

Yep, that'll take care of the issue in case I get something like that in my inbound.
I havent enabled it to create packets - although I dont imagine that
that would be too hard...?
Maybe.. maybe not.. Something you'd have to play with if there is any value there. I'm always a little leary of straying from what is known to work.
Add this to your config.packer:
Unpack "7zr e -o$p $a" 0 377abcaf
Thanks. :)

Testing out webJAM which I just learned about over on FIDOTEST.
It's a web front-end for JAM message bases & seems to work ok so far.
I'm testing to see how well it plays with Mystic as I have it configured to share the same JAM bases.
Have a look if you're interested at:

Does writing/posting messages go smoothly? I notice that the
WebJAM page *warns* about using in a write mode and suggests
to just stick with read-only for now.

It's seemed to work ok for me. The only "issue" I've noticed is reading some messages from webJAM in mystic look a little weird due to it using UTF 8, but otherwise Mystic sees the messages and tosses them just fine. (Once you
figure out the Linux permissions on the JAM bases that is).

I didn't use it much, because it was the only JAMbased thing in my whole schamozzle.. But it worked flawlessly... it just didn't support whatever nntp mode I was looking for.....I forget what that was now, but it wouldn't be a problem unless you were going to try and export via nntp to another nntp server....
