So, how many of you 1) have the time and 2) actually like some form of comics?
I am not really into them, but I have a friend who has written a few. I think they are all one-offs. The one I have read I guess could be called an "alternate storyline" to one of Shakespere's works.

I used to. But multiple things happened.Akira is still my most loved Manga cartoon. Watch it at least once a year =).
1. I was exposed to Manga - which didn't treat its readers like morons and much more complex story lines.
2. The comic book industry here in the U.S. started to decline even furthe This caused 2 problems: 1) a lack of stuff that was worth the money and 2) closure of the comic book stores in my area.Definately same here. Which is why I use League of Comic Geeks to see what comes out every week. And then the search starts, either I buy the
Of course, Manga sort of imploded as well. I haven't seen much goodness i that area in a long time now.I think League of Comics Geeks shows connected stores in the US and some of them have mail subscriptions too.
And the comic book stores are still gone in my area.

Comic stores closed here too. There is only large one left in Amsterdam but I feel its their own fault. In my comics shops the employees seemed
to try to make me dislike either them or the store. They were socially inept or soemthing.

We can probably make the argument that the people who work at comic book sto are very, very geeky (i.e. certainly on the socially inept scale). But my expereience with them was that they were comic fans, so we had something in common.
