• New nodes

I see there's new nodes on fsxNet... and to those welcome aboard! Usually I'm quicker to post a welcome however hospital stays have kept me off the bbs.

As one of those new nodes, thank you! And, here's hoping hospital stays will not be an issue next year!

Thanks, I hope they're not either but with covid I'm not counting on it.

Think positive, my friend. Unless you're getting the test...then think 'NEGATIVE'! (o_O)

I'm just assuming, but I think your previous hospital visits have nothing to
    do with covid.

I'm not so stupid to think that the Sars-CoV-19 virus (and variants) doesn't exist. But I know that this is not what will kill me.

As my moniker may suggest, I smoke a lot. And THAT is what will kill me. I already know this. I've been smoking tobacco for three decades, and pot for
    one year less.

I suppose it may still be bravado, when I say:

Ain't met a virus good enough to kill me!

But...I just survived the last two years...so...

There is an old joke in medical circles here: If somebody has deep health issues with something, he will die of something else.

The reason is that if it is known you have a particular problem, your Doctor will have that problem controlled. You will get health checks for that problem every so often, you will get a treatment to keep the problem at bay... then some problem nobody was watching for will pop up and do you in :-)

Naw. 3 separate issues which will require 3 different surgeries at least. Unfortunately a reoccurring infection is preventing this. I keep going in
for antibiotic IVs and they help but something is not right since it keeps coming back.

Or plan ahead, and don't enter "old age" with easily-avoidable health
problems that you brought upon yourself with your lifestyle and poor
    choices.

I think I'll take that route.

We're all going to die one day, but I plan to have qood quality of life as far as possible into old age and keep the bad bits between that and death as short as possible (without doing anything silly). So far, I'm certainly on the right track - many people younger than me are wrecks from stuff they've done to themselves over the years.

Yep, that's the right approach. I know from your messages that you're
very active and participate in sports/track. I'm not quite that motivated,
but am fairly active and try to eat pretty well. I certainly know a LOT of folks my age who are not nearly as fit as I am, and a few who are more so.

Yep, that's one of the things I enjoy doing. I enjoy the challenges of going faster, and the competition. Sure, it's not for everyone, but it works for me.

It's got a bit like a video game for me - I enjoy levelling up, new boss battles (or retrying the same ones!).:) Oddly enough, I don't get this out of games, I use real life for my "gaming". :)
