Does anyone have a subscription to either of these services? Was talking with
a co-worker & he suggested that I would especially love BritBox. Gave up Netflix over a year ago after subscribing for over 5 years...but got tired of what I feel are below average original programming.

Love getting my hands on any British or even Australian/Canadian TV I
can...but with the love of geolocaiton...even with a VPN...have a hard time listening to radio/watching TV shows.

Love Doctor Who/Doc Martin/Victoria/The IT Crowd (which I watch at my
lunch breaks at work) history documentaries...roughly anything which isn't
what goes for American TV now. If I can find something like Mark Loves Sharon or Mrs. Brown's Boys...that would be the cat's meow.

I am a fan of many British, Aussie, and even NZ shows, so I wind up
watching a lot of PBS. I do still watch a few US shows but not near as
many. FB keeps trying to tempt me to Acorn by showing me previews of a NZ detective show, which is apparently not too different from a British show
that I think BritBox has been trying to tempt me with. One of them has
also been trying to tempt with with Season 9 of Doc Martin, which has not
    made it to PBS yet.

Then there is The Expanse, which is on Amazon...

I don't really want to have to subscribe to multiple services in order to
watch all the shows I like. I wish they would start buying each other up
so that there would only be one or two. Then I might get real interested.

Speaking of British/Aussie/NZ shows, in addition to the ones you listed, I
also very much enjoy Endeavour, 800 Words (@#$% them for cancelling that
one), Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, DCI Banks, The Coroner, and several others.

Loved The Hour, especially the first season, but BBC America apparently had that one canned.

I try to...but only getting PBS (no matter what antenna I use)...usually just stream old movies/TV shows.

Already have it. Got it when it was running the day after.

Probably the favorite one I LOVED was Warren. Got canned after 6 episodes & don't think PBS will run it because of the language.

Just loaded up BritBox on the Roku this evening. Not sure when I'm going to start the subscription...but want to be able to enjoy it...rather than
falling asleep in my chair after a day at work exhausted till about 10 PM.

We've got Acorn; my wife is especially into English mysteries, and Acorn is replete with them. I'll have to look around at the non-mystery offerings.

Was doing some reading the other day that many of the titles are also on Netflix & their comedy offerings were somewhat lagging.

That's according to one reviewer. The thing is for around the cost of Netflix...I could subscribe to both & have my classic Doctor Who & Mrs. Booquet. ;)
