Where is local here? I'm up in Olympics 2010 city, Vancouver

I'm a married father of two, plus an almost-dog (a chihuahua my wife rescued from an abusive home) na,ed Gojira (original Japanese name for Godzilla)

I'm heavily involved in localnon-profits, fighting for the rights & help for the impoverished &/or disabled. I am a political influencer (only up here, don't worry), helping shape & create(& get passed) needed bills.

I colect/share memes & other multimedia from around the Information Superhighway (yes, I saw Jobs' original 1984 TV ad for Apple!)

I'm on a WinDOS machine, stuck with Win 10, because Microsoft 'upgraded' one night, againt my settings, & keeps upgrading more, despite my settings saying do not do so (Windows 8.1 was already a downgrade from 98, which was a downgrade from DOS (DOS IST GUT!!!)

Have you ever studied the history of Godzilla? Gojira was actually the name
of one of the parking lot attendants at Toho Studios which is where the monster got it's name from. You can read more at: http://www.godzillatemple.com/

running a Linux box here but was on Windows for many years, some systems I run still are so I am a mixed shop :)

On that site it's not clear; from the FAQ:

...how Gojira (Godzilla in Japanese) was named? According to Eiji Tsuburaya, the
creator of Godzilla: "At the time, there was a tough-looking guy working on the Toho lot. His nickname was 'Gojira'. We just adopted it for our monster. It caught on and certainly has immortalized him!"

...that Gojira is a combination of "gorilla" and "kujira" (Japanese for whale)?

The second is the way I'd learned it from etymology dictionaries. . .
