I am learning its better to have a job while you are looking for
a job. I am working for a leading car maker in their customer
support center as a contract worker helping to support their
business. I thought I would be sent making calls like 2-3 months
from now, but they sent us in the gauntlet like 3 weeks after
being hired. Right now I am going to take the county exam for
employment on Thursday and hope the scores get graded soon. I
previously took the exam so I should likely master the questions
on job behaviors/norms. And the computer questions test I think i
did well on 23/25 questions last time. This time I am going to
study the question on how to make macros in Microsoft Word.
I honestly thought I was not going to be doing any customer
contact for the next 2-3 months, but I got sent to a side project
that does not require much customer contact. I am thinking its a
passive way to dismiss some of us. However it is time for me to
find a new job until that time happens by the end of the year at
best. Right now I am processing paperwork for class action
settlements for the company I am with.
I hate the fact that I am being paid to watch the paint dry
metaphorically speaking like 2 days a month. I honestly want a
purpose.
Do you have any actual skills? If you do, it would make sense to lookI was thinking about entering a paralegal program and specialize in labor law. If I end up having problems, I'll be going to community college again and working part time for a year and get the classes knocked out to completion.
for work in that/those areas. If you don't, perhaps it's better to "go back to school" for a while to get a skill that will get you a job.

My son is getting his paralegal certificate in Washington DC. TheOr become a school teacher like in 7th-12th grade kids too.
starting salary there (and there is a big demand as you can imagine) is $55-$65K USD annual. He's a recent college grad (Political Science
degree, so it's either that, law school or McDonalds).
