Hi All,
As many of you have probably already heard, Doug has shut down both The Underground and The Ruins BBSs.
Right now, he is going through some medical issues, along with employment issues. He figured it would be best if he were to shut the systems down, and focus on these issues right now. Trying to run 2 BBSs, along with creating ansis, and helping develop some MPLs was taking too much of his time.
When I talked to him on the phone, he mentioned he thought he would be able to step away from the scene with nobody really even noticing he was gone. I asked him, "How well did that work?". And he replied "Not the way I had thought it would." He quickly found out that some of us can quickly track him down.
Anyway, I told him that once he gets his 'real' life on track again, you will want to put at least one of the BBSs back online. You'll miss the connections with some great people. He agreed that he will miss talking to most people in the BBS scene.
So, what I would like, is for all of you to send him an email, letting him know he will be missed while he's gone. I think it would be some great encouragement for him, along with letting him know that there are a bunch of people that will miss him.
I do have his permission to give out his email. I don't think he will expect to get many emails. ;)
