I was just thinking back on in-person meetings with other BBSers in my local-calling area, and remembered the time this guy picked me up, and
we took over one of the local university's computer labs for networked Doom and MUDs/talkers on the Internet. We were only in high school, so
had no right to be in the labs, especially for things even the uni students weren't allowed to do. Soon enough, the lab was filled with actual students and even some staff and professors, either installing
Doom on other systems or hogging the minute Internet resources for
games.
What might be crazier is that this dude just called me at random one afternoon and said he was picking me up. Both I, as a 14-year old, and
my parents were cool with that! Wow. Of course, he actually did turn
out to be just another fellow high school student, but still.
What about all you? Any such memories that stand out?

Posting this here. Message caught as 'bad' due to supposed date of orignal message which looks like 2012 instead of 2021
Thanks for catching those. They were actually tests, but with real
content so as not to throw the signal-to-noise off. Been having an issue where messages posted on my BBS using QWK/REP are not detected as dupes
as they come back to my system. (An unrelated issue is actually causing all my fsxNet messages to be duped and sent back to my system, but my
hub and I are currently fixing this.)
