Magic Shell (is this stuff still made?)

Business cards that turned into sponges when placed in water. Yes, these were a real thing.

FULL SUGAR breakfast cereals that were proudly fortified with vitamins and kept fresh with artificial preservatives. "Improved" meant MORE SUGAR instead of some healthier formulation.

People with cellular phones were considered pretentious jerks.

Ultra low budget independent television stations. More specifically, the horrible even lower budget commercials that appeared on these stations.

New Coke. Was this really as bad as people thought? It's been so long I can't even really remember the flavor. I don't recall hating it.

    Novelty telephones.

Ultra low budget independent television stations. More specifically, the horrible even lower budget commercials that appeared on these stations.

This brings up UHF (the Weird Al movie), for me.

Which, watching as a kid, was an entirely different experience than watching
    as an adult.

    But good both times.

Doh, I hit ctl-z instead of ctl-q... so take two..

People with cellular phones were considered pretentious jerks.

Here they were wankers, with wanker phones.. A most amusing evening, when the MILs partner turned to her and said "There's a man wanking over there." To which she perked up no end and asked "Where, where?"

Back in the early 2000s when it was unobtanium I spent stupid money (like $80) on eBay for the VHS copy. One month later I found the DVD in Walmart's $5 bin. :/
