What kind of juice are you talking? Not that long past, I retired an ASUS Sabretooth not because of any failing, but it was sucking some 240W
doing pretty much nothing at idle. Let alone what it might manage under load.
5 Years ago, I was paying 35c/kwH - I'm now on Amber paying wholesale rates - which vary betweeen 5-30c (my average is 23). Depending on how Amber goes (I've only been with them a month), I have a plan B. Dont recall their name, but they charge $80/month for 250Kw, and then 12c thereafter...
Comparing my bill its neck and neck with Amber - but what I like about
the second option is its fixed pricing at 12c (after 250Kw), and my
house pulls 450 or so a month.
We're on "Time of Use" pricing here, "Off-Peak" summer rates are 8.2 cents per kWh all weekend and 7pm-7am weekdays, "Mid-Peak" rates
are 11.3 cents 7am-11am and 5pm-7pm weekdays, "On-Peak" rates are 17 cents 11am-5pm weekdays.
My 450Kw is excluding heating and hot water (which is Natural Gas) - that's a $250/month bill during Winter :(
In the meantime, was watching NetworkChuck on Youtube and am inspired
He's good. I enjoy his videos too but man he drinks a lot of coffee.
I had to buy a pound of decaf coffee just to keep up!
Wow, good job at 450kWh! We're in the summer months here & are using the AC a lot. In June we used 790kWh and this month we've used 921kWh, even
in the winter months we're only down to 660kWh.

What are you doing with all the electric energy? Without
incandescent light bulbs I find it hard to achieve these
numbers.
