I found a link to a geek house in Santa Cruz from the '90s, and thought wistfully of those days - setting up a shared printer in the house, /~user home
pages for housemembers with hand-hacked html...
It's like a slice of my life preserved for all posterity (or at least until the
hard drive spins down...)
Purity tests, users who work at Sun Microsystems, 1.2 mpixel cameras, usenet news feeds, the talk command, "upgrading" to a DSL line, connecting an Amiga to
the net via PPP, Under Construction GIFs, and XENIX. The main box runs on XENIX, about the time I was at SCO taking a week-long XENIX class and enjoying the weather on the coast.
I miss those days, when tech was new.
