I've created an initial post in each echomail area and linked NET 1 nodes to the new echos along with sending these posts to the NET 2,3,4,5 HUBs

If you are in NET 2,3,4,5 look for these new echomail areas to link to if your HUB admin has not already beaten you to it :)

I will hatch out an updated infopack with revised FSXNET.NA file in the
coming few days. I plan to update the website and other areas over the coming days.

Just a thought - post a netmail to 'areafix' and tell it to %list.
You should see the new echos appear without the subscribe flag.

A new message with '+<area>' or the flag for all ('%' maybe... i don't
recall), should - perhaps - get you set up?!

Hi, i was wondering, when you are making the netmail for the areafix, how do you address the netmail?
do you just put the FTN of the node you are trying to contact in the
To: feild? I know that you are suppose to put the password in the subject header... i just cant seem to get the areafix to go to the right place... or maybe i am just doing it wrong. also when you send the area fix are you
sending it from the mystic -cfg menu area? or are you in mystic itself in the netmail area, and sending from local host message area?
I am still trying to figure it out.
i noticed in the mystic -cfg, where it has the all the echo / netmail
settings, it wont let you change the To: area to anything different and maintains the AREAFIX in the To: feild.
so i am assuming it looks like this:

You address the Areafix netmail like this:

(assuming 21:1/100 is your hub)

And yes, your Areafix password goes on the Subject line, in ALL CAPS.

Normally, you send the NetMail to the Areafix of your uplink.

In my case (21:3/127), my uplink is 21:3/100.

So I'm sending a NetMail (from inside my BBS, so the sender is
acn@21:3/127) to areafix@21:3/100
The subject is my password and in the body I send the commands for
Areafix, eg. "%LIST" or sth. like that.

a new message, address it to areafix, and follow the prompts from
there.

It could be because at the time I'd sent that one out first then started posting to the others a bit later as I set up stuff at 1/100 :)

Thanks, it's been a team effort and there's been some very helpful feedback given in the FSX_NET (Network Ops/Planning) echomail area. Do dive in and
post a few things to each echo. It would be good to confirm people are
getting out OK etc. etc.

As you're on Mystic and Solaris will add your node to the new echos, the
answer is probably not much as they should auto create for you when new
traffic is sent... or you can send an areafix to your HUB and manually link
to them and get a rescan of messages etc.

Thanks for the kind feedback, it was a team effort to suss what to add and
what the focus of each should be, I hope they find a usefulness for all.

Just a quick note please check you have set your message bases to export messages posted to these new echos to your NET 1-5 HUBs and not to the Games/Usenet HUB at 21:1/10

Messages sent to 1/10 will not be sent onwards to other nodes and should not
be sent there. Thanks :)

do the areafix netmail, it keeps saying that areafix is not a valid name, and then errors out to the menu... am i putting in something wrong, or does it
like need to be in all caps or something?

i have been having the issue of when i am in the netmail area and trying to do the areafix netmail, it keeps saying that areafix is not a valid name, and then errors out to the menu... am i putting in something
wrong, or does it like need to be in all caps or something?

I have no idea.

I _did_ try hitting p while in the netmail area, then typing 'areafix', and
it did not error out on me at that point.

Hopefully someone has more of an idea on what's going on.
