About a week ago...ordered a Sabrent USB 2.0 sharing switch for around $8 US (cheap stripped down KVM switch with USB only). Got sick & tired of using 2 different mice/KBD to hook up my main PC & the netbook for the BBS.

Got the USB cables plugged in & my wireless mouse/KBD work on both systems.
Was going to use it originally with the RPi Zero...but now with 2 Windows boxes... my desk looks cleaner & I'm not confused when I use the other
keyboard to type on the right PC.

Looks like it's solved my situation by pressing a button on the unit by whatever system I'm using.

That's a great idea. Sharing video always ended up being a pain in the ass,
    or the resolution wasn't right.

I played with Synergy for a while - it's a cross-platform software solution similar to what you're describing. With 2 systems and monitors, it'd let you run the mouse off the screen of one system and take over on the other
system. It was a little tricky when Windows locked the screen, and I gave up on it.

Actually...I have the netbook running on the VGA connector with the PC running on the DVI connector. So...I've got both connectors being used.

On the other hand...the mouse/keyboard works perfect. I switch inputs...I
just click the button to whichever system I want to use at that moment. Since I'm running a wireless mouse/keyboard...have that plugged into the input side of the switch. Works like a dream to have 1 keyboard/mouse with 1 monitor
    being used on both inputs.
