Hello

I've not really done one of these sorts of posts in a while.

Been working on Talisman a bit, and playing the elder scrolls online.
Been a bit stressed, with mothers day coming up and then shortly after
what would have been (or still is I suppose) our girls' first birthday.

Not sure what to do, but I need to do something.

Got new glasses a couple of weeks ago, and found out I have kerateconis
(sp?) in one eye, possibly both, so will need to see a specialist for
that and possibly get a procedure done to strengthen the cornia.

Our oven broke last night, I think it's the thermostat, as it just gets
very hot, not the right temperature to cook, and stuff burns on the
outside not cooked on the inside.

So someone's got to come look at that.

Also discovered a new (ish - as in newer than 90s lol) band called
Gojira, which I've been enjoying listening to.

Am currently in Fedora 34-beta, I installed it the other day on a spare
hard drive so I have dual boot. Windows needed to reboot and I forgot and
left it, and so it booted into fedora. It's nice, gnome 40 is definatly
better than gnome 3.xx.

Nearly dinner time.

They just dropped of the 3. from the version number I think.

I wouldn't say it's so much better, but it just feels more usable. Still
not as usable as xfce or something like that, but more usable than 3.xx

Ah, that makes sense. I'll have to check it out, been using xfce out of habit for a long time, gnome and kde both felt sluggish in comparison to me

IIRC, "Gojira" is the name of the original Japanese movie, and the monster featured in it, that came to be known in English as Godzilla. :)

I tried a Debian 11 live image with the newest XFCE and was disappointed about the GUI inconsistencies. Old XFCE style combined with the weird Gnome 3 file dialog.

Agreed. I don't like this leaking of Gnome 3 elements into XFCE. Gnome
ignores the Window manager look and it really, really bothers me.
Mostly because I strongly dislike Gnome's whole aesthetic.

... The future isn't what it used to be.
