• Anyone wanna test dial-up connectivity? (C*NET)

From Nick Young@21:4/145 to All on Sunday, March 14, 2021 18:05:41
    Hi All,

I think the dial-up connectivity to this BBS is as best as it's gonna get. If you wanna test this connectivity then please let me know how you found it. You'll need to be on C*NET but my number is +44 (0) 1-421-6425.

    Thanks :-)

I'd call it but the toll call from New Zealand would be somewhat massive :)

we just need someone out there to offer a BBS door that allows you to dial out to other BBSes. bit bizarre that would be ..

If I understood the concept of C*NET correctly, then there wouldn't be any costs for you, as C*NET is an "alternative" telephone network for phone enthusiasts which uses VoIP to connect with each other.
So if you are on C*NET, you can use this phone number :)

    Nick, is this correct? :)

    Regards,
Anna (who is not on C*NET)

Remember, it's VoIP. I can give you a number off of my exchange if you want - you'd just need an ATA.

Avon's idea is not that weird!
Back in the 90's we had a BBS that was a local call from my town.Nashville,Tn was a long distance call for our town back then. His BBS was a local call to Nashville,Tn and my little town. I could call his BBS and go through a door
he had setup and dial out to a list of BBSs in Nashville for free. It worked great!
