Rush to Sovereign Hill... Its actually one of my favourite tourist traps here ¨in Victoria. Its supposed to be a recreation of ~1850's goldrush Ballarat. ¨It has all the things you'd expect for that era... blacksmith, the lolly ¨shop, which apparently used to use copper and arsenic to color sweets way ¨back in 1850(bit scary). Gold panning, and the Ore Stamper. The photo ¨op, stage coach and so forth. I think I've been going there for... lemme ¨see... 45
years maybe... Well we've got relo's down from Queensland so Monday ¨we're trundling off to the hill.

Rush to Sovereign Hill... Its actually one of my favourite tourist traps

Good time was had by all, watching the trooper firing his carbine, and waving ¨his sabre about. Ride around the diggings on the Horse drawn conveyance.

While I was doing my semi regular check the fluids and inflation on the ¨Holden
Captiva I found a new problem, takes its total out to 3 and its ¨turning into a
pain the patooty(arsch). Its a relatively old beast, 2009 I ¨think it is off the top of my head, might be 11, I forget. But about 6 months ¨after I got it, it decided that the climate control wouldn't any more... I ¨was going to get that checked out, took it in for a service wondering what ¨they might be able to tell me about it. And they decided it needs a new ¨timing chain. And the new one is a reasonably good crack in the coolant ¨bottle so she's spraying coolant when it gets up to pressure.

I have in mind to cut my losses and get rid of this thing.. The timing chain ¨is hiddeously expensive, it runs like a powerless dog the way it is with that ¨particular problem. Probably a testiment to onboard electronics that it runs ¨at all.

The climate control is still a complete unknown.. It might just need ¨regassing, but then where'd all the gas go, another leak? I pulled all the ¨fueses trying to track this one down, they're all fine. When cold the A/C ¨does seem to produce cold air, but as soon as it warms up it only blows hot ¨air at you.

The cooling system bottle is probably the least of the problems. It's going ¨to
have been this way for some time, but I only just found the source. My ¨problem
is this thing seems to be developing a new fault every few months. ¨Whats next?

    Enjoy. I haven't been there for years. It's definitely a full day's visit. :)
