<Boggle> Not sure how that one left the building... if I recall right that was an early test that crashed and burned....

I have to go back and fix it all again too.. :/ Because I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on, I simplified it back to essentially a single node setup... which means only one person can use the message base because all the MSGTMPs are in 1 location... not the dir per node arrangement. Which of course broke all the door setup too... <sigh>

Oopsies. ;) I don't envy you. I was glad to ditch HMB in 1992-1993, because it was just too difficult to manage with the volume of mail I was receiving. I lost count of how many times I blew up my HMB. LOL

Ouch. :( Yeah I've never done a DOS multinode setup, only had one line back in the day, and now only doors I run are stock JS ones on Synchronet and MPL on Mystic.

... NO CARRIER? How are we gonna land this modem?

Welll.. I might keep using the hudson for local stuff... I did discover that "The Reader" should handle squish/jam bases... however as there's not config for it in Super, I'll have to go the "Other" BBS software and massage a config file for it to eat and find a spot to put them.

The worst part about multi-node on SBBS or pre 2.x RA was always the inconsistency of where config files live. Super says keep everything in the \sbbs dir, then run a config in the node dir. If you exec from the node dir thats the config it will use, it'll also put the dorinfoX.def files and anything else that belongs to the node in there too. But you have doors and other stuff looking for files in weird places \sbbs, \sbbs\nodeX, their own dir. I find its a bit like trying to be all things to all people. You just have to keep wrassling it until it works the way you want it to.

When I upgraded from RA 1.1 to 2.x, I started migrating message areas to JAM. By the time the BBS closed, only netmail and a handful of low volume echos were left in HMB. The rest had been migrated to JAM, and any new echos from the time RA 2.0 was installed were created as JAM.

    Hmm, what a pain. :/
