• Forking FreeBSD

    Hey,

I've been madly working on my freebsd fork the last few weeks. The only
thing stopping me from using it on my main PC is no firefox.

I've mostly worked in runit into the base, got rid of ports and using
pkgsrc instead. Ported LLVM like 3 times to the new target triple.

I still need to get a working install image with runit, (I'm close) up
until now I had been using normal init on the install image, but runit
once it's installed. I also need to set up a way to configure wireless
lans and static ip addresses in the installer.

    Oh, and get firefox working.

I've spent the last few days on firefox. Rust is being a pain. I need to compile rust for my new target triple, but I haven't worked out how to do
that. It works fine with the x86_64-unknown-freebsd target triple, and I
can compile librsvg with it, but not with firefox.

So, I'm having a go at getting epiphany working instead (GNOME web)

I'll get there, I've learned a ton about freebsd in the process.

    Andrew

It's beyond me this magical stuff you're doing but so long as the hot water cylinder is behaving itself then it must all be good :)

I did gardening and have been looking after my wife who is recovering from
some sinus surgery... she's nearly two weeks post op now and I'd say around
65% recovered. I took this week off to care for her but go back to work on Monday. I'd rather stay home :)
