Awesome! thanks too for helping me get this site up and running.
now that i have this set up, i am hoping to get usenet and other
message bases setup, and the theme edited.

Currently, i have both a production bbs (the one i am writing from), and
a test bbs on a VM on my laptop, that i can use to test changes before
rolling out to production. Such as menu and theme changes. that way i
can make sure if something pukes, it doesnt effect the production side.
right now i am working on a theme for Hive32.

    Thanks

i'm excited to finally get this up an running.

i logged in to Black Panthers site last night ( bbs.castlerockbbs.com ) and
met some people through multi node chat. apparently there is a group
that meets up on thursday nights to hang out. one of them came and signed
up on my site. my first sign up! woot woot!
feel free to stop by any time. its a bit plain right now, but
i hope to build it out.

    Thanks

Usenet is pretty straight forward, have a look at he docs in the info pack
and let me know via netmail/email when you would like a feed from the 1/10
    HUB :)

Hi, I stopped by but the security levels were such that I couldn't post on FSXnet or leave a comment to the sysop. Looks good, though.

You probably want to talk to the people who run Usenet. Address mail to:

    Usenet Central Administration
    1060 West Addison Street
    Chicago, Illinois USA
    60613-4305

Allow six to eight weeks for a response.

I run my own NNTP server, there's no costs to you to use it via the gateway offered :)

also i would also like to get Fidonet up and running as well.

There will be plenty of folks who can help you with that also and/or offer feeds of echomail etc. if you want.

Peering with the Usenet is pretty much like peering with BBS. You ask a news service administrators for peering and they will
feed you the newsgroups you need.

Powerful Usenet servers may charge a fee (since their business model is charging for data transfers, including to their users)
but text-only servers usually donñ t put much of a problem there.

Aioe and Eternal September used to be free. I think there were a bunch of others.

Some Polish ISP still runs one for free I think.

I found 3 that were "free" although you might've needed to create an account for access... Off hand I don't recall what they were now, I can check the suckrc if you're interested in more options.

I was using all 3 and letting the server sort out duplicates.
