It's been a fine and settled day today. I had the idea last night that this morning I would get up early and go for a bike ride. I'd got some clothes sorted the night before and set them up in the lounge so that if I woke early
I could get up and get dressed without disturbing my wife.

In the end although I woke up early and it was fine, I opted for a slow start to the day and ended up going for the ride around 9am for about an hour. It's the first ride on my loaner e-bike that I have done for a number of months.

While it was quite windy today the ride was fun and I rode across town using our cycleways, got as far as our sports stadium then rode back though the
main part of town then back around the harbour basin and home. Good stuff.

Then it was time outside with my wife and some gardening she want to get done so I helped. I made it to trusted status with the secateurs today and was tasked taking out some dying flowers that had been nice in spring and were
    now spent.

We ended up filling up our rubbish bin that had only just been emptied that morning as part of our weekly rubbish collection service... so now I have a
bin full of green waste until next Monday and not a lot of room for household rubbish waste until then - sigh :)

Later today we watched a Netflix movie called The Midnight Sky. I thought
'yay' a SciFi movie. In the end I thought 'boo what a dirge'. So my top tip
is skip this slow 2 hour movie that has George Clooney in it. He stars,
directs and produced the film... he may have had fun making it but the story
is sloooow... and the plot in the end is weaker than the strength of the tea
    I make my wife... beware!

Tonight I am chipping away at jQuery and HTML and sorta having fun with it... but making progress.

    Best, Paul

I heard it described as lacking a beginning and an end -- that it doesn't describe how the situation came about, and leaves the conclusion up to you.

So, yeah, doesn't sound like one that would be a favorite for me, so I'll be skipping it.

Awww, now I'm sad. I was planning to watch this today. :-( I love me a Clooney flic. I'll probably watch it anyways, and will report back.

On another note, I enjoyed Wonder Woman 1984. 'Tis a bit silly, but it's fun to see the Mandalorian as the bad guy. :-P

The Midnight Sky has gotten a bad rap but I totally disagree - I think it's a solid movie but it's not always an easy sell to the viewer. I happen to be a George Clooney fan since the re-make of 'Solaris' and later 'Michael Clayton' so make of that what you will.

I don't feel so bad now. I oddly enjoyed the film also. It was a slower pace, and a bit castaway-ish in pace, but I felt the ending was a bit as unexpected as Enders Game (The book).

I think it's way too long for the story it was trying to convey. Well made, great images etc... but yeah, short on story...

I thought the ending was brilliant.

He finds out his daughter is in space and he has saved her and then he disappears. Did he finally succumb to his cancer or did the radio die? Who knows? I liked it a lot.

I think he died. I agree the reveal or aha moment was good but it took
    forever to arrive :)
