Do you think a form to signup for fsxNet needs to offer different passwords to the user for areafix, filefix,TIC and packet? I'm tending think not. But offering options to set a password for say BinkP or QW

It seems most common to have the same PW for areafix, filefix, TIC and Session. And to not have a Packet password at all.

yes agreed, it makes setting up a hell of a lot easier for both sides (node
    and hub) also :)

I'd say it's good to have the ability to choose all these, and so, to
have to fill out each one of them.
That way you can be sure what each password is and if some password is/should not be set.
Perhaps it could be stated that they all can be equal, if desired.

Yep I think you're right. I'd been hoping to avoid offering all options but
if I can construct things in a way to offer a 'global' password or chose specific options for areafix etc. then I can try to work on that as a way forward.

    Thanks!

Sounds like an opportunity to make your web form more complicated! ;)

It does, oh the joys :) Sigh.

You could have a radio button: Would you like different passwords for Areafix,
Filefix & TIC? And then some javascript to add in extra form fields if they answer yes.

Thanks, yes I'm thinking of something like this. I guess whatever I end up creating it can always be a first cut and a work in progress :)

I would say that it probably doesn't matter too much but some people
like to have separate passwords for separate functions, I have offered just the one password in my applications but on numerous occasions, perhaps more than not, passwords were requested for each function and
    they were different.

Currently the txt form for fsx asks for one that covers everything and it
does make setting up quicker. We don't get too many (so far) wanting to set specific passwords for each thing... but there are the odd request that comes in so yeah, no one size to fit all.

    What have you decided upon?

Probably offer a 'global' or specific passwords option I guess..

    Thanks for the feedback :)
