How did aging work for that character?
I mean, they could explain it away fairly easily, and just say that he was affected by The Burn or something.

I never really thought too much of the character either. It seemed to be aconvenient way for the writers to enable some rather far out there challengesfor the TNG crew to face.

Snap... we figured it was a Q like role also... it's really the only explanation we could come up with at this point.

Oh my gosh, really? Q was one of my favorite! Especially loved when Janeway et all went to the continuum, to be judiciary for Q when he
wanted to be less Q.
Don't get me wrong. I don't mind Q and I thought the actor did a great
job ofplaying him in TNG. I just found it a bit to far out that such an entitycould exist in the ST universe and saw it as a plot enabling
device for farout stuff to be seen as credible.
Though I did enjoy the Professor Moriarty storyline about a computer program becoming sentient.
That's like some of those holodeck episodes (e.g. Dixon Hill) episodes, where "something" goes wrong
and the only way to get the crew out is to let the holodeck program run its course.

yes I remember that one also and agree... the sentience aspect really
made that episode.
I enjoyed them, though I guess I can see the criticisms that they didn't develop the character in the correct way for that particular growth to be entirely in keeping.
I did kind of wonder if they were planning a spinoff based on the
outcome of that episode.
I think the idea was that she was going to head up a Section 31 spin off series.. That could well have opened the door for that to occur. I don't think storyline will be a hurdle, rather it will be convincing business suitsto fund the series ;-)
