• ARCmail ?

    Hi

So tiny just sent a message to happynet, and I got a netmail from ARCmail
with a path in the subject.

How is a tosser meant to handle such netmails?

It had a flags kludge with TFS on it.

I can't really find any information on the subject.. should I filter
messages from "ARCmail" or messages with TFS flag?

I'm guessing it's because tiny's using some sort of program that sends
files as netmail attachments rather than standard BSO, I'm just unsure
what the correct way to deal with such a message is.

    Hello apam,

Yep, dial-up mailers used to attach ARCmail bundles to a netmail and that is how they were sent. A lot of tossers have options to delete empty netmils.

How is a tosser meant to handle such netmails?

You can delete empty netmails or netmail from ARCmail.

It had a flags kludge with TFS on it.

My guess is truncate file sent, but don't take my word for that.

    Ttyl :-),

    Delete away.

My ezycom setup is hacked together and most HUB's hate me at first until they
find the delete empty arcmail setting or something like that. If it's too
much hassle I can just process happynet on talisman and not on the main BBS.

    Delete away.

Done this, postie will now discard empty netmails.

Nah, it's fine, and good to get a variety of setups to test against.

    Perfect.

Okay thanks. :) Soon as I can figure out why irex isn't copying the
packets automatically for talisman I'll have it pretty much automated.

That sounds like an arcmailattach netmail? That's how Frontdoor and
other similar mailers looked, instead of using .FLO files.
