    Hello All,

I know I'm mostly in lurk mode around here these days (life busy, etc), but I certainly appreciate being able to pop in here and see some interesting conversations.

I'd like to wish my FsxNet family a wonderful Christmas, or whatever special event you may be celebrating around this time of year. I hope you all get a chance to take a breather and reflect on 2019, and spend some time
anticipating what the next decade is going to bring us.

    Happy Holidays!

    Hi all

A belated Merry Christmas to you and hope you are having / had a nice day on
25 December wherever in the world this note may find you.

We have family staying with us and other visiting during the day. It's a busy time of the year. Weather has been poor here, about 10 degrees cooler than usual and very wet... so hot food during 'summer' has been welcome. We even
had the wood burner going on Christmas eve which for a New Zealand summer is
    a tad nutty over here...

Anyway hope you're all well, thanks for taking the time to read/post in
    fsxNet during 2019 - it's really appreciated.

In the end it's the contributions you make to discussions about all sorts of stuff that we cover in these echomail areas, such a continued source of enjoyment (for me at least) and why I continue to remain active in this
    BBS hobby/interest we collectively share.

My best wishes to you for a fun, simple and experimental 2020.

    Best, Paul

Nice to see you're still around and about, yep lurk mode is something I do
from time to time also, ... I think we all do it :)

Today I have been out with my wife.. done some shopping, had lunch out, then went to for a drive, home with some test pots of wall paint which she has liberally applied to walls in our lounge (it looks very strange in there
now... think of me) and am on dinner duty tonight which will likely equal a
hot cooked roast chicken from the supermarket and some salads.

We bought the on-demand streaming service Disney+ y/day and my teenage
daughter is currently watching a musical... save me now - heh :)

I have yet to succumb to the Disney+ lure - The only streaming service I subscribe to is Netflix. The rest of my content consumption is watching
British TV. Being in Canada, there's no legal way for me to obtain this content, so I have to resort to 'other' means. Hey, I'd love to have the
option to just pay the UK TV license fee and legitimize my viewing, but they won't take my money.

We opted to split the cost with one of our older kids who wants it for their daughter... turns out you can have several profiles and he's happy to share
the main login with us so we each just use a different profile and it seems theres no issues with more than one profile watching at a time.. In New
Zealand they are charging $100 a year for the service so we're paying $50
each and it does not seem to bad for that cost to me... but who knows, I'll probably watch it a bit but think my teenage daughter will likely watch it
    more :)

Re UK TV yep I can appreciate your pain. I've used a DNS service from time to time for similar reasons over here.

Hey, I'd love to have the option to just pay the UK TV license fee and legitimize my viewing, but they won't take my money.

Sabnzb is my friend when it comes to stuff I can't get any other way.

Still the 30th here. Supposed to be nice weather tomorrow as well, which is good. One of the longest days of the year for me. Work until noon, sleep a couple of hours and go back in at 9pm to 9am ,at least. If my stores aren't staffed I've been known to be there until 4pm or later unfortunately. Have
to stay up until that night because it's back to a normal 630ish am Thursday morning. Chances of even appearing in BBSland are pretty slim after tonight.

I have a nice setup with Sonar, SabNzb, and Plex. The Just enter the shows
into Sonar and it goes out to Usenet and slurps in the shows, catalogs, indexes, and downloas metadata. Very nice :)

We had a brown Christmas, but today we're under a severe snowstorm watch with up to 30cm expected in the next 24 hours, so it's looking like our New Year
is going to be very white. We certainly need the snowpack in the hills to
help with next Summer's fire season.

Another one is Radarr. It's a fork of Sonarr but for movies. I haven't tried
it but love sonarr, probably pretty good. Just have had my setup for a couple of years now and why fix what's not broke, right?

I've heard of Radarr but haven't tried it. I think it's because my movie consumption is intermittent, and therefore manually finding a movie isn't too much work.

I'm just as likely to buy/rent from Amazon on the stick as I am to request
one for download but it's nice to have.
