Very nice design and features. Much better than the Tesla truck
    monstrosity.

At about $100k for a truck, I'd be afraid to take it off-road to
    even put a scratch on.

At that price I could buy a rental property here in Indiana. At that price I'd be afraid to take the truck out of the garage lol! I'll wait a few years, but will own one, used likely. Electric needs to come down in price without it being a tiny ugly vehicle like the Chevy Vue (no offense to anyone that owns one ..) But love that the Hummer is back in production. Now if they'd come out
with a realistically priced gas alternative; I'd be all in on that truck design.

OMG, tG... I'm digging on this sucker, too. Its odd how there was so much YouTube coverage of this truck... kinda like GMC marketed it in a way that WE would want it. :P Worked, on this end anyway...

It was weird tho, a ton of YouTube personalities that I follow covered the Hummer - and it almost looked like they were in the same review room... like GMC had a day or week where the new Hummer was setup and ready for the 'YouTube
press' to come thru and do their thing.

Did you notice it in this way, too?

Anyway - it looks rad. I don't wanna drop $100k; but its neat where our vehicles are going. I'm all about electric, and I'm all about it when they switch over to TRUCKS... then I'll be able to switch over in my business and...
I won't look back man! Give me plenty of self-driving options, no gas needed [but how much is electricity!!] and I'm digging 2020+ cars!!

LOL! I was always wondering that part... if people, or the electric car industry even, have thought about what it takes to power those electric cars and houses and... things.

I'm sure it works today; but in our future, when we're more reliant on electricity... will we be able to supply enough for that demand.

I saw a hilarious youtube video on some dude stranded on the side of the road and a couple perplexed about him needing gas, as he owned an electric vehicle -- then he opened the trunk and showed them his gas generator. Even though I'm

Twenty years ago, I was shopping for a Ford Mustang. I went to the local dealership. Somehow, I got the salesperson who usually sold trucks. He
made mention that he preferred selling trucks because the mark-up on them
was so much higher than most of the cars.

A lot of things change in 20 years but I bet that is not one of them. I
would also bet the mark-up on an electric truck is even greater than on a
    gas or diesel powered one.

I am guessing $100k is about 3x what it is actually worth.

I would imagine a lot of that price is paying for the R&D it took to build the new platform and systems. It's likely they'll also take the profits from this luxury build and use them to develop a more affordable mid-market version. Similar to how Tesla bankrolled the X with profits from the S, and the 3 with the X, and so on.

I'm sure many are willing to pay a premium to be an early adaptor, or be the first one in their city, etc.

Not so farfetched. Our homes are powered by electric. The goto

Not so farfetched. Our homes are powered by electric. The goto
solution is a gas-powered generator when there is an outtage.
A simple logo/symbol instead of H-U-M-M-E-R across the grill would
    look classier imho.
The power-lift suspension was part of the Citroen (in the 60's). A
family friend had one of those. He lived and worked in the city, but
spent many a day in cottage country when the backroads where not as manicured as they are now. The headlights following the steering
wheel movement were also very cool.

Right? If we get rid of fossil fuels, better each home as a bunch of ugly solar panels (or can afford Tesla panels) on our roof.

I don't mind the HUMMER logo on the front, did you watch the video of the light
that flashes across and behind the logo as it's charging? It's pretty transformer, slick looking.

As for the power suspension, I'm not a pro with that stuff. All I know is it has some trick features with turns, etc .. that an average vehicle can't do. But .. to Ryan's point .. I'd have no use for those features other then to do fancy tricks in a Walmart parking lot.

I am guessing $100k is about 3x what it is actually worth.

You're probably right once established; a lot of that $100k is R&D right now ..
if they can sustain that price due to demand, it'll all be profit. However that doesn't seem to be how things work these days with the internet competition out there. Look at the price of a 65" TV compared to even 5 years ago. Seems as if as soon as more competition comes out, or newer tech, the price of the prior drops like a rock. So my hope is thats the case with this cool truck :)

I love rugged 4x4s. Old Jeeps, old Defenders, stuff like that. I have zerouse case for one of them but love the style haha. Then again, I have
a '67GTO and have zero use case for that either.
I'd love to have an old muscle car. I want a 69 Chevy Chevelle SS! Would love
to see pictures of your GTO!

As for the jeep, I love it. An older jimmy would be fun to own but have zero need for it. As for my 2016, it's great when we get 6+ inches of snow, or a week without rain during the summer when I can take the top and doors off. However I have not, nor will, add a lift kit and big tires. I get bored with vehicles too quickly and within a year or two I'll either replace this Jeep with something else, or I'll be giving it to my teenager and buying something new. No sense dumping money into it just for the cool factor. But the jeep does have some value even to the everyday driver, if you enjoy taking road trips and doing so wihout having the top on. However the 4x4 I only use during
snow. I haven't taken it off road as most of the places to do so are far north
    or south of central indiana.

The "all functions on this tablet" thing is actually kind of worrisome forme. I like having some hardware buttons for certain things (A/C control, radio, stuff I'm likely to mess with frequently while driving). Buryingeverything into some menu someone needs to take their eyes off
the screen tonavigate is, IMO, a bad idea. I'm hopeful electric cars
will find a happymedium of what to put on a screen and what to leave as
    a button.

Yeah the one thing I didn't like about the Tesla was the dash. It felt very far from the driver/passenger, and looked bare. The sheer size of the tablet was cool but as my boss drove, I noticed he had to use it more frequently then he should have had to, which was like someone texting while driving. I "guess"
the concept is that the cars auto drive/breaking feature takes the worry of keeping your eye on the road, off the table. However I'm not that trusting. Despite the aforementioned, it was quite a wow factor to get a test drive of the Tesla. Very high tech vehicle it is.

Recently I had a wild hair and was looking at '70-'72 era Chevy K-10s.
To me,that is the ideal pick-up...and I want one bad, even though I'd
have no wayto use it hahaha

I used to love that truck. I had a friend who had one lifted, and neighbor who
owns one now. I was actually looking for an older truck like that as an alternative to a trailer, for trips to Menards/Lowes/Home Depot, since I'm constantly doing woodwork, installing my own mulch, needing top soil, etc ... not to mention the fact that our city doesn't do large pick up day for trash. They only offer two events per year to dispose of large items at a central pickup location. So when throwing away old furniture, broken appliances, old TV's, etc... it would be nice to have for the purpose of Goodwill or Dump trips. I have yet to find one not rusted out, and/or totally pimped out and overpriced though :(

    Scam.

Money got send to New York, prior to PayPal... had to call the FBI; never got my $$ back, bought a damn Sony for $9k on sale.

    They are $200 now. :/

Haha! But, one must use ALL of it's features, even if unrealistic. But yes, I
could see many around my area buying one, and parking like the jerk who takes up two spaces to avoid "scratches" on their vehicle. However, this time it wouldn't be for that purpose, it would be for the purpose of discovering how that feature works. There are a few of my neighbors that own Ford Raptures, which is a truck I *love* .. but it goes from their garage to work, garage to the grocery store, and never sees the dirt or climbing it was designed for; yet
spent over 100k for it as well.... I'm find with my little jeep I spent no more then 20k for.

I'm also reminded of Jack Rickard (who died pretty recently, I think) of Boardwatch fame, who talked about the first generation civilian Hummers, howhe liked them, and how they tended to shed parts as they went along.

The h1? I think Arnold Schwarzenegger got the first one. It's a nice vehicle but gets like 7mpg .. they have held their value really well; likely because either they aren't being sold, or nobody wants to buy a used one at those gas prices. And, few garages could hold one comfortably. Heck, my garage wouldn't
fit a truck (I have dual single garage doors and could never fit one in .. stupid home design). I loved my h3 when I owned it, with the exception of lack
of power. The hummer, even the h3, really was built like a tank -- very sturdy
with great suspensions .. I could go over speed bumps at 15mph and not even feel them, if that even matters. But it was by far the coolest 4x4 i've owned -- loved it. Now, coolest car I owned was a new infinity G45 .. that thing was
fast. But it did HORRIBLE in the snow, mustangs were passing me while my car was sideways, moving forward. I haven't owned a car since, only 4x4. I hate driving in the snow.

Funny story - the last TV I bought was one of those Samsung curved 65" ones.. I
got a decent deal on it, $1300 or so at the time for a 4K screen with plenty of
i/o... after bringing it home, we set it down on the carpet while we prepped the wall bracket and install brackets that go on the rear of the LCD - it tipped ever so slowly and simply touched a computer desk that was sitting right
    there...

When I turned the TV on, the entire screen was cracked and damaged... right back to Best Buy I went - only having been gone for 40 minutes or so - and they
refused to take the return. I had to beg all the right people, at Best Buy and Samsung, and got it replaced for free but... it was my fault, and they didn't have to do that! OMG!

Lol, Paulie almost was out a new 65" curved LCD TV within one hour of purchase!

Yeah, the H1. I always like the concept of the H1, because of the whole, "designed to take an 18-inch wall at 40mph and keep going" aspect.

Which you get at with your speedbump comment. But it's pretty much useless
for the rest of what's traditionally been my lifestyle.

My general, "That's silly" sort of transportation objects have been bikes,
and more specifically, bike trailers. I had (still kind of have, I guess,
since they're in storage in California) a one-wheel camping trailer that'd
fit a 17-gallon tote if needed (but also was the cause for sheering off my
rear derailer hanger when I overloaded it), and an utterly ridiculous bikes-at-work trailer.

Said trailer could carry a row of four totes, or pretty much whatever held
your imagination. Mostly limited by the terrain and your ability to make it
go. Rated for 300 pounds, the previous owner slightly broke it while carrying
a couch and some people. My entertaining trips involved moving items that would've been hard to fit into a car due to the geometry.

So I guess I'm fascinated by ridiculous vehicles, even if it's something I couldn't remotely justify.

Yeah we have a lot of lakes here and I have a few friends with boats. In the suburbs they can't be parked / stored at the house, so they have to find a storage facility with outdoor storage for boats. But they do boat every signal
weekend during the warm months. I've always wanted a boat, but would never use

At this point we're just upgrading the living room TV so we can actually see it better over the fire place, then my garage TV will upgrade to 55" from 32", and my 4 year old will get a 32" flat panel in his bedroom instead of a 13" tube TV with DVD built in (finally). I had one of those old giant projection TVs years ago that I ended up throwing out in the dumpster about 4 or so years ago. Those used to be the best thing on the market and I paid at least $2000 for it at the time.

Yeah, 3D TV is worthless. Resolution is where it is at, and edgeless LED screens.

Unfortunately I have to deal with fitting TVs in armoires so the size is limited to the particular furnature. I currently have several 42" 1080p LED, and one 42" plasma 720p.

Since there there are edgeless models, I probably can go larger now to get more screen. The last TV I bought was right before 4k got less expensive. I'll probably upgrade to 4k eventually, since I have capabilities using the nVidia Shields.

I had one of those old giant projection TVs years ago that I ended up throwingout in the dumpster about 4 or so years ago. Those used to be
the best thingon the market and I paid at least $2000 for it at the time.

Projection TV's were great, I sold many of those over the years they were around. I think I would have saved as many components as possible and turned the box into a fish tank lol! They did take up a lot of space, but to your point, flat panels to present an entirely new issue of mounting on walls, or ugly TV stands, hiding wires, etc.. I got the one above our fire place, installed an electrical outlet so the power cord wasn't running down the wall, and installed a cable (HDMI) wall pass through kit (wall plates) to get the cable to my receiver. Now if they'd come up with a way to hide A/V Receivers, I'd be a happy camper .. most furniture that is "wife approved" aren't deep enough for my Onkyo nor my Pioneer Elite .. so it on some corner piece of decorative furniture, tucked sligthly behind a couch. It's not ideal. Our living, space we watch movies within, wouldn't allow for armoires; I can see that being an issue -- we sold a lot of TV stands as a result and/or wall mount installations.

I agree with you on the resolution thing, as long as its true resolution from source to display and not upscaling lower resolutions at the point of the TV. Thats why I still like buying blu ray dics (albeit a lot less of them these days, unless epic classics or super hero movies ..) But I dont' currently have a 4k, looking forward to owning one this Christmas. Just waiting for the "real" Black Friday deals to kick in. I was in corporate retail too long to not fall for the "start your shopping early with our pre black friday savings," followed by the ridiculously lower price over black friday weekend where price guarantees do not apply from previous purchases.

Yes, the wife approved factor comes into play with the TVs. I would dump the entire armoire and just get the largest thing I could put on the wall.

I have several android tablets wall mounted on the 1st floor for smart home stuff. I did recessed outlets and used nice expensive frames for them. They do look really nice.

Similar to the best time to buy candy is the day after Halloween. I have picked up some incredible deal on Christmas Eve before. Not for presents, just stuff I wanted to buy.
