Syncterm on _Windows_ cannot copy text.

    So I use MagiTerm.

But I thought that Syncterm on _Linux_ was just, highlight the test, and
you've copied it. So, highlight, then paste where you want.

But maybe someone knows who uses Syncterm on Linux?

Sure it can (and does). See, this is copied text (using SyncTERM):
Syncterm on _Windows_ cannot copy text.

If your on a server that enables mouse support in SyncTERM, you may need to use
Alt-B first to copy from the scrollback.

Huh! Neat. Thanks for correcting me, as I tried to find some way of doing it, asked around, and utterly failed.

But it's definitely that, "use the scrollback" bit that got me there.

Okay, cool. And if you're not using the mouse support on the server/BBS (e.g. to play Minesweeper!), then disabling that on the BBS is probably a good idea too.

I beg to differ, I do it all the time... ponder... Win7 not sure what version of synchterm I've got though...

I swear this came up previously on here, and I mentioned it, and it was why I switched over to MagiTerm, etc., yet clearly no one who knew better was
    reading those messages.

    Or my memory is wrong.

Either way, I'm glad to be disabused of the incorrect notion.

Yup, digital man popped in & set us straight:

If you're using v1.0 copy & paste will work just by selecting the text. In v1.1 you need to go into scroll back mode (Alt-B) to be able to copy.

    I just stuck with v1.0:

That's only true (of v1.1) if the BBS/server has enabled mouse tracking. Disable mouse-tracking on the BBS/server and you can copy text at any time just
    like you could in v1.0.

Hmm, now I'll need to figure out if I can disable mouse tracking on Mystic.

By that info, I'm using 1.0 still... and will probably continue to do so :)
