My gf and I will go see this soon, can't say I'm super excited. But if she
says we're seeing Cats, I may have to end the relationship :D

It gets a 6.5/10 from me... it's OK but there is little new to the story and
it feels like it's working hard/quickly to wrap up loose ends and finish the thing off... so yeah ... not bad but not great.

As for Cats.... run... away... fast :)

It's worth watching to see how they wrap up some loose threads.... but it's

It gets a 6.5/10 from me... it's OK but there is little new to the story and it feels like it's working hard/quickly to wrap up loose ends and finish the thing off... so yeah ... not bad but not great.

As Hamilton said from episode 7, i think, they converted the franchise into a Transformers-like thing... too much effects, baam, baam, piou, kaboom etc... and less story and connecting with the heroes.

Right now, "The Mandalorian" is far better to watch. I even liked better the story from the games "Battlefront II" and "Fallen Order". They seem more
"star wars" than the main films. :(

Also the 8th movie, did some really bad damage to the franchise, which also guided the 9th movie to be a "correction" to the mistakes from the previous movie.

But... Star Wars is not just the movies. It's a whole franchise with cartoons, comics and more. I really enjoy them and even if this movie is not great i
will love it, just because it's Star Wars! :)

I still have not seen "8" yet. :o "7" was not bad, and I have heard that
"9" is better than 8 and on par with 7. Still, 7 < 1 or 2 which I guess is
why I was not as excited to go see 8.

had the DVD since it came out.

Rogue 1? I found that quite enjoyable. Oddly enough #1 son wasn't picking �up
where things were going to go for "a new hope".

I thought they way they kept footage of Carrie Fisher in the movie was Ok-ish... it felt like the reworked the script just to shoehorn in a few
scenes with the princess... my view is it made the dead actors performance
seem rather wooden / staid... but that's just my 2 cents..

The way I look at it, is that they all advance the story along, some
characters are more beloved than others, and *everyone* has a view on the merits of the plot in each film... so situation normal.. :)

As least we get to enjoy spending some more time in the Star Wars universe :)

that is the one. I need to watch it sometime. A couple of big Star Wars
fans I know said Rogue 1 could have easily been the only prequel to "A New Hope," i.e. it made Chapters 1-3 obsolete and told a much better story.

From all I have heard since, it is by far the best of the Disney Star Wars movies.
