I installed NextCloud on my home server and use it to store my photos and share
things with just the people I want to - mostly that means close family. Long gone are the days that every picture I took would be instantly posted on by FB wall and I feel much better for it.

Welcome to the Nextcloud club.

I don't use it for social activities though. Mostlñy for hosting business files and sharing short stories with my proofreading team.

I love that Nextcloud instances can be federated. That way I can federate my Nextclouds among each other and with the Nextclouds of proofreaders who want to host their own infrastructure.

Facebook is not exactly free. They don't like certain subjects being discussed. But that could be moved to fido debate if ya want.
