• Linux masters; help displaying AmigaFont ASCII?

From paulie420@21:2/150 to All on Friday, September 11, 2020 22:17:51
I have a ton (250+MB) of AmigaFont ASCii files. They are mostly topaz, but
some microknight. But regardless of that, as I just want to display in topaz.... is there a way to display in topaz font in my CLI?

I use an 'iconv' command, thanks to help on fsx, to display my ANSI files in the CLI...
    (iconv -f cp437 -t uft8 filename.ans)

-f is from and -t is to, so I thought OK... I can just find out what Amiga Topaz +2 is and make the -t TOPAZ or whatever its called; but those are more the encoding...

Anyway, I wanna do the same thing that that iconv command does; but is there
a way to change the output display to Topaz or Microknight font in Linuz command line?

I'm hunting and will update this post if *I* find it... but if anyone happens to know it would help me out a ton.

Lastly; if anyone needs/wants a 250MB dump of great 90s Amiga ASCii, I'm more than happy to send it over to anyone.

Or... grab it for yourself here, you are 'allowed' to pull the whole thing if you want:
    ftp://rock.pungas.space/FILES_REPOSITORY/AMIGA/ASCII/

    Cheers...

I don't know anything about Migas or topaz, but if iconv isn't able to do the job, you may be able to get something useful with termcap for cli anyway, it really only lets you substitute chrs for what its finding in the files... used to be feasible once to keep running it through until you ironed out the bad chr's and away you went....
