• Linux How-To Articles

From Black Panther@21:1/186 to All on Friday, September 11, 2020 17:48:24
    Hi All,

Just to let everyone know, I have started writing some articles for people
just beginning their journey into the Linux world.

The first two have been hatched out into FSX_TEXT file echo. I'll try to send one out every couple days. I'm currently working on writing number 14, so I have a few in the queue already. :)

These start out with the very basics, of how to find a distribution, and boot into a live environment to check it out. Then there are a few that take a
look at some of the terminal commands. There are a couple that explain the basics on how to use APT in a Debian based system, and pacman in an Arch
based. The one I just finished writing is on file permissions, and how to change them.

If you've been using Linux for any period of time, these might just be refreshers for you. If you're new to Linux, or want to take a look at Linux, these will probably help you get a feel for how things work.

Anyone who has been using Linux for awhile, if you have suggestions for
changes or additions to these, please let me know. I might have missed some things, or made assumptions as to people current knowledge.

So, take a look at these and let me know what you think. If they can help a
few of you out in your future endeavors, that is the intent. I know a lot of this information is available on the internet, but it always seemed like they were missing steps, or started showing the information at a higher level of knowledge, which the new person may not have. So, I decided to write my own.

I hope you enjoy them. :)

So far, just the two that have been hatched out in FSX_TEXT. I've been
spending too much time writing, instead of putting them on here. :)
