    My office is mandating sit-stand desks in the new office we're
    designing. I'll get a chance to try ditching the chair for periods of
    time.

    I hope that works. I've never used a standing desk, so I'm uncertain how I'd respond to it.

    Well, okay, I suppose I've worked behind a counter often enough that it probably wouldn't be all that different, other than possibly being able to quickly set things to a comfortable height, rather than having a counter
    that's supposed to work for both 5' and 6' people.

    I hear you - I'm 6'2", and in every house I lived in without a
    dishwasher, washing dishes by hand would give me a backache after a
    while from stooping over.

    I couldn't imagine working all day like that.
