After poking about in the video business down at the church, their last seance seemed to go with no hitches. I decided to have a look at a handy cam video camera. The ol' WeatherCam has been half offline since the OrangePi last ate its boot volume, it keeps segfaulting mjpg-streamer now.

So down at the ol' Cash Converters I found something very similar to the church model o camera with all the bits and pieces for not to much. I'm not 100% sure how I'm going to hitch it up and what to at the moment. I see she's got HDMI and USB. The church has HDMI hitched to a USB capture device, not sure why you'd do that over just using the USB port but I guess I'll get to see
soon enough.

If it works well enough, I think I might swap east and west cams. Where the webcams are literally in the window I might be able to tripod it, set it back from the glass a bit, and take a long view out west, which is the better view.
I might nearly double as birdcam out there, someone local regularly bird feeds and you can see them all approach at feeding time.
