Anyone up for poking about with an ancient Egyptian theme for some menu screens? Haven't quite decided what to call all its bits yet but I'm thinking something like the great library per alexandria, files areas might be the tombs, Pharoh's diversions...

Been playing with the name, Silicon Sarcophagus.

    Thanks,

Sounds like an interesting idea. Are you going to try to do the ANSI
yourself, or what exactly are you hoping for?

I'm really going to need menu screens per se to help get the feeling across. I played around with some ascii but its looking more medieval than egyptian. A variety of blanks to choose the ones that fit the menus best and fill the menu options in. Its getting outside my area of expertise, and I'm not seeing anything much around to work from as a guide....

Gah I can't see this, I need some kaleidescopic glasses.... :P

    It's an international treasure.

The idea of doing something like the back of a dollar bill did kinda cross my mind during the process, too. :)

As you can see, I'm not at home looking at it this time... I'm not sure if
I'm seeing it in all its glory.. but I think I still need kaleidescopic glasses.

I envisaged the main menu looking a bit like a lobby or temple entrance kind
of affair with adjoining menus looking like they're out another exit... I
might be hoping for to much though.

I didn't get much further than this, it started looking like an aquaduct or
a viaduct with a coffin in front rather than a row of pillars behind a sarcophagus. Funny I never even thought of a pyramid while I was thinking about egyptian.

Look around at places like this for ideas:

    http://www.asciiartfarts.com/19990723.html

    http://www.asciiartfarts.com/20010803.html

    https://www.asciiur.com/s/egyptian

Borrow some of those and just colorize them.

You could start with the suggestion of pyramids, the sphinx, camels on
    select menus.

And this is where I go uh? Maybe its to many hours beating my head against the network... but I have no idea where you were going with this...

Eh, I think I mixed some references in my head.

The glasses I thought were a reference to the Ocular Device in the National Treasure movie ( nationaltreasure.fandom.com/wiki/Ocular_Device ), and I thought I recalled a reference to the pyramid-with-the-eye on the back of the dollar bill.

But, while there are references to American currency for clues in National Treasure, I might have been thinking of maybe some Dan-Brown-related movie.
But my searching skills are failing me at the moment, so I'm not really sure where I got the eye-pyramid reference from.

You might be right, but I don't recall.. I was just thinking it looked so mashed when I saw it, that a looking through a kaleidescope might make it look right again :)

I recalled a reference to the pyramid-with-the-eye on the back of

The good old all seeing eye of the illuminati...
