    Anyone tried KISS linux?

Thought I'd have a look and am installing it now on a spare PC.

I remember trying out different versions way back when.

Now I'm more interested in breaking the BBS in unusual ways.

    https://bbs.red-green.com/messagebase/list

I've got some of the message bases up for reading on the web.
The [ANSI] messages look pretty good I think.

Firefox nor Opera like the ones that start with "[ANSI]..." in the
    subject.

    Both report:

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete
your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in
    the application.

Ah ha! You're right. The ANSI to png program was missing a library.

I guess I'm still working on breaking the BBS. :D

It should be good now. Sorry about that Ogg.

Reminds me why I'm glad this is an alias-based network, since messages get a little further and wider than they did back in the BBS'ing heyday. Mind you, plenty of real names in the FSXnet node list, so only so far removed.

Anyway, my ANSI post does seem to look right on the page - bbs.red-green-com/messagebase/read/FSX_General/4593

Huh. I wonder if something changed, or if it was just different for me -- I
    had no problem in Firefox.

As for other browsers, I just checked Opera, Chrome, and Edge, and all worked fine. Win10 64-bit system, browsers should be fairly up-to-date.

Thanks for trying it out, Adept. :D

We're going a little bit crazy here refreshing the web pages to see what
new messages the BBS has. Well, give a few days, and the newness will
    wear off.

That is a fine webby solution for rendering ansi art within a message.

Is it worthy of reporting it as a new techonology? :) Can other webby systems use it?

That is a very nice way you integrated ansi into a readable display.

Are you creating the .png on the fly as a visitor picks a message? ..or
are all and ansi's "detected" and converted into your database ahead of
    time?

I'm using ansilove to convert on the fly. And flask-caching with redis
so I don't keep doing the same things over and over too often.

My "database" is the Mystic message base files. Is Mystic supposed to
    let you do that? <GRIN>

    Thanks for trying it out.
