Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 166...

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 166
continues.

SUMMARY...Storms have intensified along the eastern periphery of WW
166 this evening. A severe threat may spread into adjacent Fergus
and Blaine Counties and the watch has been extended into these
counties.

DISCUSSION...Storms have increased in intensity over the last hour
just to the west of LWT to HVR. Moist upslope flow into the higher
terrain of Judith Basin and Chouteau Counties is evident per recent
increasing dewpoints at HVR and LWT into the low to mid 50s. As a
result, storms moving off of higher terrain will be encountering a
more moist and unstable airmass, and additional strengthening is
possible. As such, a local extension in watch area has been
collaborated with WFO Great Falls. Large hail and strong wind gusts
will be the main threat with these storms as they quickly track
northeast.
