    SUMMARY...Snow squalls associated with a cold front tracking
    eastward across the area will bring brief periods of moderate to
    heavy snow and gusty winds. Conditions may deteriorate rapidly, with
    lowered visibility, over short distances as the snow bands track east/northeast.

    DISCUSSION...A surface low was located just north of Lake Ontario
    this morning, with a trailing cold front extending south/southwest
    from near Watertown NY into western PA. Near the front, narrow snow
    bands will produce brief periods of moderate to heavy snow as the
    squalls shift east/northeast this morning into this afternoon. While
    a tight pressure gradient is leading to some gusty winds
    region-wide, wind speeds may increase further as the snow squalls
    and cold front pass. Some locations have gusted to near 30kt with
    the squalls. These brief bursts of heavier snow and strong winds
    will lead to reduced visibility. Conditions may change quickly over
    short distances, especially if traveling on east-west oriented
    roadways. The snow squalls are expected to persist into the
    afternoon as the cold front continues to shift eastward across the
    region.
