    The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 245, 249
    continues.

    SUMMARY...Pockets of damaging wind potential remain, but the severe
    threat should continue to wane into the early overnight.

    DISCUSSION...Several convective regimes are ongoing across Watch 249
    and northern parts of Watch 245 this evening. Over southern
    Wisconsin, the interaction of southeastward-moving outflow and a
    decaying HCR has promoted a small cluster of strong to briefly
    severe storms. Damaging winds are the primary threat here, but cells
    should weaken as outflow moves farther southeast and undercuts them.

    A secondary convective system is crossing the Mississippi River at
    present, but is encountering convectively processed air in the wake
    of a prior system. As such, a further downturn in intensity is
    anticipated. Lastly, clusters of strong/severe thunderstorms are
    ongoing over the U.P. of Michigan. Storms will continue to propagate
    along outflow boundaries, with pockets of residual steep lapse rates
    yielding a few updrafts strong enough for cells to briefly become
    capable of severe gusts. However, continued overturning will
    gradually reduce the threat here as well.
