Areas affected...from southeast Louisiana into the Florida Panhandle
Concerning...Tornado Watch 426...
Valid 121725Z - 121900Z
The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 426 continues.
SUMMARY...The threat for a few severe storms including damaging wind
gusts and tornadoes persists along the Gulf Coast, and an additional
watch may be required east of watch 426.
DISCUSSION...A warm front currently extends from southeast LA
eastward along the MS/AL coasts, and is now approaching the shores
of the FL Panhandle. Various supercells have been noted over the
Gulf of Mexico today, with rotation enhancement as the storms
interact with the warm front. As this front moves inland, a threat
for brief tornadoes will thus exist. Therefore, a new tornado watch
is likely to be issued soon.
