Areas affected...the Gulf Coast region from southern Louisiana to
western parts of the Florida Panhandle
Concerning...Tornado Watch 426...
Valid 121354Z - 121600Z
The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 426 continues.
SUMMARY...Risk for severe weather -- including a tornado or two --
continues.
DISCUSSION...Thunderstorms continue in/near WW 426, both inland, and particularly offshore over the Gulf. While the warm front remains
largely just offshore, risk for severe weather continues along
coastal areas as storms developing over the water shift
north-northeast/inland with time.
Several rotating storms continue just offshore, and in particular,
several cells near eastern portions of the watch south of the region
from roughly Mobile Bay to Pensacola Bay are showing persistent
low-level rotation. While the warm front remains offshore --
particularly just to the east of this area, short-term risk for
severe weather may increase near the coast in the next 1-2 hours
across this portion of the WW area.
