Areas affected...Southeastern NC...Far Northeastern SC
Concerning...Tornado Watch 378...
Valid 161032Z - 161200Z
The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 378 continues.
SUMMARY...Tornado threat is expected to persist past the expiration
of Tornado Watch 378 and another watch will be needed soon.
DISCUSSION...The overall environment (i.e. both thermodynamic and
kinematic fields) across the region has remained relatively
unchanged during the past few hours as Florence continues to
gradually move southwestward. The slow motion of the system suggests
the tornado threat will persist across southeastern NC past the
expiration of Tornado Watch 378 and another watch will be needed
soon. Additionally, threat for tornadoes across far northeastern SC
will likely increase as the higher theta-e air continues advecting
into the region.
