Areas affected...Southeast NC
Concerning...Tornado Watch 374...
Valid 150225Z - 150400Z
The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 374 continues.
SUMMARY...A threat for a weak tornado or two will persist through
tonight across southeast North Carolina.
DISCUSSION...The center of Tropical Storm Florence has moved into
northeast SC with a westward shift expected overnight. This track
will result in southeast NC being in the favored quadrant for a
continued potential for a tornado threat, as an influx of moisture
spreads inland some from the warmer Atlantic waters. These factors
combined with recent increases in lightning production attendant to
middle and outer rain bands located across the east and southeast
periphery of Florence suggest a tornado watch may be needed
overnight.
