The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 347
continues.

SUMMARY...Strong convection will remain focused this evening from
northern UT into extreme northwest Colorado. Gusty winds and
marginally severe hail are the primary risks.

DISCUSSION...Visible satellite imagery exhibits substantial
convection across northern UT along the southern periphery of a
pronounced short-wave trough. A belt of stronger mid-level flow
extends across northern UT into southwest WY and deep westerlies
should encourage this activity to spread into extreme northwest CO
over the next few hours. Latest diagnostic data suggest an axis of
higher theta-e extends into northeast UT and this should support
strong updrafts into the mid evening hours. Hail and gusty winds are
the primary risks.

While some severe risk may extend a bit downstream into CO than
earlier anticipated, it appears the areal extent and severe
magnitude will be too small to warrant a new watch.
