Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 321...

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 321
continues.

SUMMARY...A loosely organized complex of thunderstorms will continue
to spread southeastward across the watch area, with wind gusts near
severe limits possible.

DISCUSSION...A large area of storms currently extends from
north-central OK into southeast KS. Southern areas of the complex
are being aided by low-level theta-e advection via a 30 kt
southwesterly low-level jet, with the main gradient extending from
near Wichita to just south of Tulsa. Farther north, a
southeastward-moving cluster of cells with cold pool which
originated over central KS has merged with the warm advection
storms, losing intensity. Given the current convective mode, organization/strengthening seems unlikely. However, sporadic wind
gusts on the order of 40-50 kt remain possible this morning.
