The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 312, 313,
314 continues.

SUMMARY...The threat for isolated damaging wind gusts and marginally
severe hail continues for most of the areas covered by Severe
Thunderstorm Watches #0312, 0313, and 0314 mainly over the southern
and eastern portions of the area.

DISCUSSION...Scattered thunderstorms continue to cover an expansive
area from southern VA to western ME with MLCAPE of 1000 (northeast)
to 2500 (VA) J/kg and sufficient deep-layer shear continuing to
support some organized bowing/supercellular characteristics,
although most of the organized cells have been transient in nature.
The tendency for outflows spreading quite rapidly from the storms
despite the stronger deep-layer shear indicates the rather weak
low-level winds and moderate evaporation occurring under cloud base
is precluding any longer-lived organization. However, outside of the
areas that have received expansive stabilization from the earlier
storms (to be indicated in Watch Status updates shortly), the threat
for isolated damaging winds and marginally severe hail will continue
for the next few hours.
