    Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 125...

    The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 125
    continues.

    SUMMARY...Bouts of severe hail and severe-caliber wind gusts will
    remain possible as storms spread northeastward across west-central
    Nebraska within Severe Thunderstorm Watch 125, which continues until
    9pm MDT/10pm CDT.

    DISCUSSION...Strong to severe thunderstorms continue to spread north-northeastward along/north of I-80 to the north of Ogallala as
    of 2330Z. Although these storms have shown some signs of weakening, additional/organized storms will continue to spread northeastward
    into WW 125 out of northeast Colorado and far northwest Kansas.
    Convective trends and a relatively modest shear environment (30 kt
    effective shear at most) suggest a continued multicellular/linear
    mode, with steep lapse rates and dry air above the boundary layer,
    as noted in the 00Z North Platte observed sounding, being supportive
    of potentially severe-caliber downdrafts. Storm persistence is
    expected to be aided by a backing and strengthening low-level jet
    through early/mid-evening. Overall, bouts of severe hail and
    severe-caliber winds will remain possible as storms generally move northeastward across WW 125.
