Probability of Watch Issuance...40 percent

SUMMARY...Isolated severe thunderstorms with a threat of hail will
continue through the morning. Trends will be monitored for possible
watch.

DISCUSSION...Thunderstorms are developing within northeast Colorado
in response to increasing warm-air advection stemming from a
strengthening low-level jet and large-scale ascent associated with a
short-wave trough across the northern Rockies. Mid-level lapse rates
on the order of 8-9 C/km, most-unstable CAPE values around 2000
J/kg, and deep-layer shear on the order of 40-50 knots will continue
to support a hail threat with any sustained, vigorous updraft.

Thunderstorm coverage is expected to continue to increase through
the morning, making it increasingly difficult for thunderstorms to
remain isolated enough to fully realize the environment's potential.
Thus, the destructive interference between competing updrafts should
preclude a more robust large hail threat. As such, trends will
continue to be monitored for possible watch needs.
