Areas affected...parts of central and northeast Wisconsin and into
the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 185...
Valid 172329Z - 180130Z
The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 185
continues.
SUMMARY...Local risk for damaging wind gusts, and possibly
marginally severe hail, continues across much of WW 185.
DISCUSSION...Radar continues to show a band/cluster of storms moving
across northern Wisconsin and western portions of the Upper
Peninsula of Michigan. The storms are moving through a moderately
unstable environment, with convective intensity being aided by
moderately strong westerlies above 850 mb. The loss of diurnal
heating and resulting, gradual boundary-layer stabilization will
eventually contribute to a slow decrease in wind risk across the
area beginning roughly mid-evening. Until then, wind/hail risk will
continue with stronger storms/bowing segments.
