Areas affected...Portions of northern Wisconsin and the Upper
    Peninsula

    Concerning...Tornado Watch 183...

    Valid 172008Z - 172145Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 183 continues.

SUMMARY...A line of strong/severe storms will maintain a threat of
damaging winds, a few large hail reports, and perhaps a couple
tornadoes over northern Wisconsin. Additionally, this line and new
downstream development could necessitate a Severe Thunderstorm
Watch to the east of Tornado Watch 183 within the next 1-2 hours.

DISCUSSION...Thunderstorms continue to form and move east along a
composite front/outflow boundary nearing the Minnesota/Wisconsin
border as of 20Z (3pm CDT). Considerable upscale growth into a
bowing line suggests the primary severe threat continues to be
damaging winds. Still, weakly confluent surface bands are favoring
convective initiation and some brief semi-discrete evolution
directly ahead of the line. Prior to absorption by the line, these
cells may support isolated large hail growth, owing to around 40 kt
of effective shear. Additionally, backed flow near the lake breeze
may locally enhance the tornado threat with these discrete cells.
Over time, east/southeastward propagation along this boundary will
bring some severe threat towards the edge of Tornado Watch 183 (by
approx 430-5pm CDT). These trends will be monitored for potential
    downstream Severe Thunderstorm Watch issuance.
