Areas affected...Portions of northern Wisconsin and Minnesota
Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 130...
Valid 292234Z - 292330Z
The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 130
continues.
SUMMARY...Threat for a few damaging gusts and perhaps some severe
hail will continue along far northeastern portions of Watch 130 and
points northeast early this evening. However, a gradual downward
trend in intensity is expected through the evening hours.
DISCUSSION...A loosely organized squall line has developed from far northwestern Wisconsin to north-central Minnesota early this
evening. While these cells are encountering a narrowing corridor of
favorable surface-based buoyancy, this linear band of cells may
maintain some wind threat into northeast Minnesota this evening. As
cells push across a notable lake-enhanced boundary, increasing
surface-based inhibition should bring about a gradual downturn in
intensity, but steep 0-3km lapse rates may maintain a potential for
a few damaging gusts through mid evening.
